Although we may not be celebrating the season in our usual traditions, several units brought holiday spirit and friendly competition to the office! Beginning December 14th, creative and holiday classics adorned office areas and individual doors in both Santa Maria and Santa Barbara. Through scavenger hunts, gingerbread house contests, ugly Christmas sweaters and decorations GALORE co-workers lit up our environments and sense of wonder. With restrictions in place, staff exceeded expectations through solidarity to bring cheer and smiles to ALL. Perhaps this is a start to new traditions throughout the Probation Department!!

Thank you to the staff of the Santa Barbara County Probation Department for their participation in this year’s Angel Tree Program and bringing holiday cheer to local children! Angel Tree is a program through CASA Santa Barbara County that fulfills wish lists from children in foster care. Probation staff picked a name from the Angel Tree and purchased a gift(s) for a child ranging from 0-18 years old. The Santa Maria staff was acknowledged by CASA Executive Director Kim Davis for being one of the biggest contributors this year. Special thanks to Deputy Probation Officer (DPO) Martha Mera who organized the effort with the CASA program and for making this year a bit brighter for all!
