We haven’t heard the roar of laughter fill our showroom since March 11th, but somehow, we still have a lot to be thankful for. We are thankful to the local comedians who are still perfecting their craft by any means available. We can’t wait to hear you perform your new material in our clubs. We are thankful for the diehard fans of comedy who are attending drive-ins, Zoom shows and outdoor shows. You fill us with hope for a brighter year ahead. We are thankful for the friends ...who have shared heartfelt moments with us. What was just a DM or phone call to them meant everything to us. We are thankful for the opportunity to nourish our community again; albeit with food instead of laughter. The outpouring of support has humbled and encouraged us in ways that we can’t express. Prior to founding Levity Live, Robert began his career as a barback at the original Irvine IMPROV in the early 80’s. His endless hustle, entrepreneurial spirit, and passion for standup, quickly propelled him through the ranks and soon he was overseeing all operations and booking for the IMPROV. Over the years, Robert and his partners built the largest network of comedy clubs in the worl...d, managed some of the most notable names in comedy, produced countless standup specials, and are responsible for some of the largest live comedy tours and festivals in history. Many of us wouldn’t have the opportunity to work in comedy today without Robert’s contributions to the art form. Robert- Your animated stories, unremitting positivity, and deep love for comedy inspires us to be our best every day. Thank you for your friendship, and for lighting a fire in all of us to continue connecting audiences around the world to the magic of live standup!

These truths give us confidence that we will see you again very soon. We are living through one of the most challenging and transformative years in history. To Infinity and Beyond! The voice of Buzz Lightyear Tim Allen appeared on An Evening at the Improv in the ‘90s and so did his counterpart Woody kind of! Tom Hanks, the voice of Woody, hasn’t graced the Improv stage (yet!) but his brother Jim Hanks, who voice-matches Tom and plays Woody in many of the Toy Story video games, also performed as a comedian on an episode of An Evening at the Improv!

"After six months of practicing one-liners on his parents and two younger siblings, 6-year-old Callaghan McLaughlin was ready for prime time. The British Columbia first-grader set up a joke booth at the end of his driveway last month and waited for his targets friends and their parents to amble by.... What does a rain cloud wear under its coat? he asked one of the first people to drop by at a safe six-foot distance. Thunderwear! What kind of bug is bad at football? he called out to another. A fumblebee!" What does a duck snack on? Cheese and quackers!" And on it went, until Callaghan had exhausted all of the 16 jokes he’d memorized from the book his mom gave him last fall, Laugh out Loud Jokes for Kids. Then he started from the beginning again. And again. And again."

If you’ve been to a comedy show at one of our clubs, chances are it was booked by this bombshell. Erin started her career with us at The Irvine Improv as a waitress on June 15, 1991. In 1994, she began booking talent in our clubs. Since then, she has orchestrated countless nights of laughter across the nation. Erin’s contributions to our venues, our communities and the modern comedy landscape cannot be overstated.
