Last week, the Rotary Club of Manteca honored San Joaquin County Probation Juvenile Detention Facility Supervisor, Darron Rhone, as the recipient of the Don I. Asher Memorial Officer of the Year Award. The Don I. Asher Memorial Officer of the Year Award acknowledges those in law enforcement who perform exemplary contributions to the citizens of San Joaquin County. Officer Rhone is an integral part of Juvenile Detention and a consummate professional in all of his administrativ...e duties. He goes above and beyond expectations to support his team, youth and the Probation Department’s mission. Officer Rhone is described by others as a mentor, teacher, leader and an exceptional communicator. He is a proactive supervisor who incorporates what he teaches in Weaponless Defense, to his staff in the units at the Juvenile Justice Center. Officer Rhone is confident in making decisions, displays an extremely positive attitude and has fostered strong working relationships with individuals at every level of the department, as well as with employees in other departments and law enforcement agencies. Chief Jackson told the Rotary, Darron leads by example, not by what he says, but by his actions in supervising the Institution. Chief Jackson described Officer Rhone’s demeanor as having a calming effect on staff, even when things seem to be chaotic. Congratulations JDFS Rhone! #supportingasaferstrongercommunity #sanjoaquincountyprobation See more

While this week comes to a close, we couldn’t help but reflect back through the last few weeks. On 5/19/2021, Officer Jimmy Inn was laid to rest. While this has weighed heavy on so many, the amount of support shown was truly inspiring. Even at the hardest of times, our communities came together to help each other stand strong. With that being said, it’s especially important to remember that there are always people there to support you, to listen to you, and to remind you th...at you are not alone. Don’t forget to check in on your loved ones during this difficult time, and always remember we are stronger together. Stay safe, stay healthy. Together supporting a safer, stronger community. #stocktonstrong #RIP2800 #bethelightinnthedark #bluelinestrong
Homeless Outreach Team was back in action last Thursday advising those currently residing under the overpasses from El Dorado Street to Wilson Way that they will need to relocate as a cleanup mission will be taking place. Those contacted were also provided with food, hygiene packs, masks, hand sanitizer, a list of available services, and were advised that the Homeless Shelter will be providing COVID vaccinations on 5/25/21. It was a productive and interesting morning as the T...eam even came across one gentleman who was living underground in the side of the slough a tunnel that allegedly went about 20 feet back. Our homeless population not only have a knack for ingenuity, but they are always appreciative of the information, food, and services that they are provided with. #sanjoaquinprobation #communityoutreach #supportingasaferstrongercommunity See more
