On June 20, right between the primaries and the conventions, we rise together. Join us at June2020.org! The Mass Poor People's Assembly & Moral March on Washing...ton is going digital! On June 20th, we will hold the largest digital and social media gathering of poor and low-wealth people, moral and religious leaders, advocates, and people of conscience in this nation’s history. A global pandemic is exposing even more the already existing crisis of systemic racism, poverty, ecological devastation, the war economy and militarism, and the distorted moral narrative of religious nationalism. On June 20, the 140 million poor and low-wealth people across this nation will be heard! WATCH the broadcasts on the #PoorPeoplesCampaign FB page: FB.com/anewppc & June 20 website: june2020.org The event will be rebroadcast on June 20th & 21st, at 6PM ET. The increasing urgency of a broad movement led by the poor and most impacted is more apparent every day. Now is the time to organize towards collective action to enact a moral agenda that lifts all people by challenging the interlocking injustices of systemic racism, poverty, militarism, ecological devastation, and the distorted moral narrative that ties it all together. The fact that there are 140 million poor and low-income people in the richest country in the history of the world is morally indefensible, constitutionally inconsistent, and economically disastrous. ***************** The broadcast on June 20th and June 21st will be interpreted into Spanish and ASL (American Sign Language) and will be open captioned in English. ASL interpretation will be visible on-screen for the Digital Mass Assembly and March on all digital & TV network platforms. A second ASL Interpreter only-view live-stream will be available in the Deaf Poor People’s Campaign Facebook group and Facebook page showing a larger view of the ASL interpretation. Open Captioning in English will be available on all digital and TV network platforms. We are aiming to make June 20th, 2020 as accessible as possible to our entire Poor People’s Campaign family. The Campaign’s leadership nationally and in the state coordinating committees is made up of poor people, clergy and moral leaders, and advocates bringing people together across lines of division. Our Leadership includes Deaf and Disabled folks as well as leaders who communicate in a number of languages. Speakers on June 20, 2020 will speak to the issues facing poor people in particular who are Deaf and Disabled and point to our demands for disability justice in the Moral Agenda. This Campaign is built by leaders from the bottom up. We know that we always have more to learn regarding accessibility, disability justice and defeating abilism. If you have any questions or feedback about accessibility on June 20th, 2020 please email us at [email protected]. "Copyright Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival 2020"
