April Fool’s brings yet another fun SFT Tradition! Sometime during the night before Hebe was transformed into a swamp goddess with a crocodile in the pool while the sounds of crickets and frogs were heard floating through the lobby. Residents and staff alike have no idea how this happened...
The Hellers are happy to be back in the pool! Feels great to have a little bit of normal return with new Shelter In Place protocols that allow for disinfecting between visitors and distancing so that everyone can enjoy and stay safe.
International ShakeOut Day is always on the third Thursday of October. This annual drill helps our team and residents continue to learn and grow and thus be even better prepared. Don’t forget to drop, cover and hold on!
The goal of Active Aging Week is to promote wellness initiatives and to get bodies up and moving. Jim takes a break from behind his desk at least once a day to spend time in the cardio room!
SFT continues to celebrate Active Aging Week! Residents Helen and Allan Ridley spoke about the joy they have found by "nature journaling". If you're interested to learn more about this combination of art and science, a former biology student of Allan's, John Muir Laws, has published several YouTube videos and a book, The Laws Guide to Nature Drawing and Journaling.
SFT celebrates Active Aging Week! The International Council on Active Aging began the first Active Aging Week in 2003, encouraging adults over the age of 50 to take advantage of all that life has to offer. Earlier this week, resident pianist Donna Kline shared about the impact that music has had on her life.
Assisted living residents and staff have been enjoying their socially distanced exercise classes.
Our Stitch Group is enjoying their socially distanced meetings where they can work on a personal stitching project while catching up with one another.
