A project of SJC Rotary that provided 400 pairs of new shoes to middle and elementary school kids in Tijuana, Mexico

SJC Rotarians were well represented at the November 10th Association USMC Birthday celebration at Pelican Hill. Carlos Harrison took these photos of the event. Others in attendance were Governor Pete Wilson, Jeff Stack, and around 300 other Marines, veterans and friends.

The free dental and vision clinic in Maneadero, BC, Mexico provided dental and vision services for an entire school. Rotarians from SJC, Irvine, Santa Ana, Man...teca and Ensenada Calafia Rotary clubs assisted the dental team from Dental Care for Children. The dental team had dentists and dental students from UCI, UCLA, USC and Loma Linda. The motto emblazoned on the back of many dental smocks read "Will work for tacos." Local Rotarians and Youth Exchange students helped repaint the school and Rotaractors collected books to stock the school library. This project, founded by Dr. Charles Tozzer and PDG Ray Sanford is now in it's 16th year and has provided more than $1.5 million in free services to the underserved children in Mexico.
