Many high school students are now learning Bati l'Gani by Meira Warshauer (dedicated to Paula Robison) for @sandiegofluteguild Spring Festival. Something very interesting happened yesterday.. I had introduced this piece to Liam in his lesson, and right after the lesson, my husband came to me and said, "look what I found in the garage." It was a photo of me and Paula Robison from a masterclass in Chicago in 2005? 2006? 2007? I don't remember... I haven't seen this picture in a...t least 5 years or so, and my husband randomly decided to pull it out of a box yesterday. Ha! Funny how things happen like that.. Since the pandemic, all private teaching has been online. Private lessons are now on Discord and it's been a great platform not only for best and most stable audio, but it really has brought our flute studio back "together." Students get to see each other regularly as they cross paths in between lessons, and sometimes observe lessons in progress to listen to what other students are working on. I love this platform. I really think all music teachers should explore this for their music studios. It is SO MUCH BETTER THAN ZOOM...
