The Christian Science Monitor excels at pointing out cultural shifts. Here is one from the second section of this article (tenth paragraph): The closer the race, and the more mail-in ballots there are, the longer it could take to determine a final result. Professor Foley says that from a legal perspective, it’s not an issue if it takes time, so long as the right process is followed. But it will require a shift in voters’ expectations, after years of seeing a victor declared on Election Night.
