He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. - Matthew 28:6 - Happy Easter from San Diego Christian College!
Last Tuesday at FCA, the Diversity and Inclusion Committee was able to provide a dinner that highlighted Jamaican food and Ethiopian food. - The committee was able to raise $500 to support two locally black-owned restaurants, Red Sea @redseaethiopian Ethiopian food and Ackee Tree @ackeetreeja61978 Jamaican food. Both restaurants were so excited to cook for our student body and we were able to feed over 60 students. -... It was awesome getting to enjoy the taste of the African and Jamian culture as we wrapped up Black History Month. - Thank you to all that donated and served at this dinner! See more
Congratulations, Keren Hogue, on being named to the 2020-21 GSAC All-Conference Team! #talonsup
Rosa Louise Parks was nationally recognized as the mother of the modern day civil rights movement in America. Her refusal to surrender her seat to a white male passenger on a Montgomery, Alabama bus, December 1, 1955, triggered a wave of protest December 5, 1955 that reverberated throughout the United States. Her quiet courageous act changed America, its view of black people and redirected the course of history. (rosaparks.org) - So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be... dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. - Isaiah 41:10 - In recognition of Black History Month, San Diego Christian College will celebrate and honor prominent African-Americans who have made an indelible impact on the formation, development, and forward progress of our country. #blackhistorymonth #livelifebeyond #sandiegochristiancollege See more

On Friday, October 9, 2020, San Diego Christian College (SDCC) will host its semi-annual IMPACT Day. 100 students from SDCC will serve their community by doing service projects in partnership with ten local agencies to help with projects relating to each agency’s unique cause. Unlike in previous years where students have been sent into the community, organizations will now bring their needs onto the campus where students stand ready to fulfill their wish lists. Both faculty a...nd staff will work in unison to ensure all service needs are met. The gathering will take place in the parking lot of the San Diego Christian College campus. All participants will be socially distanced and following safety protocols. Students also have the opportunity to serve remotely. This year's community agencies include Avocado Elementary, CAPS Pregnancy Clinics, City Hope, East County Transitional Living Center, Hope Leadership Academy, Options for All, Silent Voices, Sonshine Haven, Sunshine Ranch Therapeutic Riding, and Young Life. SDCC students who would still like to sign up to help, or for those organizations that would like to participate in future service project events, please contact the Director of Service Life at SDCC, Gidgitte Dougherty, at 619.438.6259.

Chaplain Jonathan Stephens Class of 2003 Upon graduation from San Diego Christian College, Jonathan Stephens was called to serve God by serving our country. As a U.S. Navy chaplain, Stephens has traveled around the globe providing Christian fellowship and guidance to the heroes who protect us. He has visited active combat zones, sailed hostile waters, and has flown in dangerous skies. Chaplain Stephens was also stationed on the USS Fitzgerald during the worst US Naval disas...ter since the USS Cole. After seven sailors were killed when the guided-missile destroyer collided with another vessel off the coast of Japan, he provided counseling and spiritual triage to the grieving sailors and the families of the fallen. SDCC is proud to have been a part of God’s plan for preparing Chaplain Stephens for his career in the military. For more on this story, visit sdcc.edu/give See more
