There are many layers to hunger. In addition to the work we do on the ground, we are committed to strengthening our community through legislative action. Make a voting plan and support lawmakers whose policies will prioritize addressing the root causes of food insecurity. Your vote can make a difference in ensuring no one goes to bed hungry. Together we can #VoteOutHunger.

With twice the number of Americans facing hunger in the wake of the pandemic, food banks across the country are having to develop creative solutions to meet the massive increase in need. We're bracing for a long road ahead, but we will continue to rise to the challenge to help serve clients old and new.

Did you buy a lot of candy for trick-or-treaters who didn't show? Please donate candy to your local Blue Star Moms chapter to treat our troops, not the Food Bank. We can only give out food with an ingredient list and expiration date on each piece. Thanks for thinking of us!

Don’t miss out. Carve out some time to celebrate Halloween the Food Bank way with the 10th Annual Scare Away Hunger drive! Every year Concord High students "trick-or-treat" for food and fund donations for the Food Bank. Marathon Petroleum Corporation sponsors the event, matching dollar for dollar any monies collected during the drive up to $5,000. There's nothing tricky about making a difference! This year's event will take place on Friday, October 30th and is open to Concord residents who received a collection bag and flyer on their doorstep. Due to COVID-19 safety precautions, there will be a contactless porch pick-up or drop off only format. Donation bags can be left on your doorstep along with any monetary donations in an attached envelope, or dropped off at the Concord High lot.

Reminiscing on our favorite Empty Bowls memories from years past! Like everything else in 2020, this year's event looks a little different. Until we can meet again in person we're asking you, our loyal supporters, to host your own virtual food drives. Every $1 raised provides 2 meals! Visit foodbankccs.org/emptybowls to get started and help us fill the bowls of our neighbors in need.
