San Jose Buddhist Judo Club 10.05.2022

The next dojo cleanup is scheduled for next Saturday 3/5/22 at 9:30am. Could you please help to make announcement to your class so the students and their family can come and help out with the cleanup? The more people we have, the faster the cleanup will be. For the older students ages 12+, there will be a choke/pin and referee clinic right after the cleanup. We hope to see everyone there.

To SJB Members As we approach re-opening of in person classes, we plan to have a thorough cleaning of our 1050 N. 5th Street dojo this coming Saturday, June 5 at 10:00 AM. We will be vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing mats, cleaning restrooms and wiping and sanitizing all equipment, furniture and surfaces. Since we have not been in the dojo for over a year, cleanup may take a few hours.... We will be limiting the number of volunteers to about 20 people, so please respond to this memo if you are able to help. Please wear a mask.

SJB Member and Friends of SJB, The safety and good health of our students, parents and instructors are our major concern and priority. Therefore, in an effort to limit the possible spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Board has decided to suspend all Judo practices immediately until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience but we will be suspending practice as a precaution until there is containment and/or more clarity to this situation.... Please remain safe, vigilant and in good health and we hope to see you very soon. Vaughn Imada on behalf of the SJB Board of Directors

To our Judo community, Thank you to the hundreds of people who helped make this year’s Sensei Memorial Tournament a huge success. The 72nd Annual SJBJC and 28th "Sensei Memorial" Invitational Judo Tournament had 723 contestants. It’s success is due to all of your participation and support. To everyone who took time out of their busy schedules, who refereed for hours, who trained so hard and who sat up in those stands... cheering.... Thank You!!! The Hospitality/Officials room was delicious as always and has received many compliments. The security was abundant and kept everything and everyone safe. The pool room did their magic and got everyone into their appropriate pools. To all the Committee Heads thank you again and again for all you did in your respective areas. There aren’t enough words to express our deep appreciation to you for your dedication to the club and this tournament. Table help, pooling/announcers of the pools, presenters of the awards, registration and weigh-in personnel, Referees, Medical staff, Coaches, Parents...to all of you we give a round of applause for a job well done...going above and beyond. Warmest "Thank You" to all of our judo community for all of your help and donations to make this year’s tournament another success. Your participation is greatly appreciated. See you next year. Happy New Year and Thank You to All Domo Arigatogozaimasu Albert Kato & Elaine Abad, SJB Tournament Directors
