One of our featured speakers is Dr. Helen Bronte-Stewart, the John E. Cahill Family Professor in the Department of Neurology and Neurological Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine. She is a neurologist, neurophysiologist and movement disorders specialist, who has used her training in m...athematics and physics, bioengineering, neurology, movement disorders, and single unit electrophysiology in primates to develop a rigorous translational program in motor control research in human subjects with movement disorders. Dr. Bronte-Stewart will be presenting "The Translation of Neural and Behavioral Biomarkers of Parkinson's disease to Neuromodulation Therapy" on Friday, April 3, at 10:20am. Meet Stephen Ryu, MD, MS, FACS, FAANS! Dr. Ryu is one of the featured speakers for the annual meeting on April 3-5 in Monterey. He is the Chair of Neurosurgery at Palo Alto Medical Foundation and Consulting Professor of Electrical Engineering at Stanford. For years, Dr. Ryu has lectured nationally about the science of happiness. He will be presenting "You’re Successful, Why Aren’t You Happier? Neuroscience and Happiness" on Friday, April 3, at 8:40am. One of our featured speakers is Gary K. Steinberg, MD, PhD, Chair of Neurosurgery, Director of the Stanford Moyamoya Center, and the founder and Co-Director of the Stanford Stroke Center. As a cerebrovascular and skull base neurosurgeon, he specializes in treating brain aneurysms, moyamoya disease, bra...in and spinal AVMs and other vascular malformations, carotid artery disease, meningiomas, skull base tumors, stroke, and hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia. Dr. Steinberg has practiced neurosurgery at Stanford for more than 31 years, pioneering microsurgical techniques to repair intracranial vascular malformations and certain aneurysms that were previously considered untreatable. He has also refined revascularization techniques for patients with cerebrovascular arterial occlusions, as well as moyamoya disease. He is leading novel clinical trials of stem cell therapy for stroke and spinal cord injury.
