Shout Out To Elam's Hallmark Unfortunately, Elam's Hallmark has temporally closed 8 of their locations. The Carmel Valley location has remained open as there is a United States Post Office inside. Christie Elam Manry has graciously donated all of the Easter Candy from the other locations to our local Health Care providers. About Elam’s Hallmark... Our story begins in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Guy Elam worked for the Dayton Hudson Corp. and opened the first Target store in 1963, and he got the retail bug! Throughout his career he opened several more Target stores throughout the United States. In 1974 Guy moved the whole family to Sunny San Diego to work for Sol Price (Price Club/Costco) at FedMart. In 1979 Guy and his wife Mary decided it was time to own their own business. They opened their first Hallmark store with the help of their daughter Christie. Their other daughter Joni and son Scott have also been involved with the business through the years. Over a span of 28 years the family now owns 10 Gold Crown Hallmark stores throughout San Diego. We all have a passion for the business and truly enjoy all aspects of what we do. Guy and Scott are very involved in Rotary and we support all our local communities. We deeply care about our employees and our customers. We strive to make a positive difference in people’s lives.

Joey's Wings Foundation is a Carmel Valley based non profit to benefit children battling cancer. 100% of all donations made is used towards research and treatment options, patients care and advocacy for developing less toxic therapies to treat kidney cancer among children and young adults. Cranes For A Cure is an awareness campaign started from 2015, displaying 2,000 origami cranes to honor 2,000 children who pass away from cancer in the U.S. each year. We want to invite you to a Media & Community Viewing Day this Thursday on 10/10 4-6pm at the San Diego Convention Center, where we display 2,000 cranes now. To know more about our work, please go to www.joeywings.org Here is an interview with Good Morning San Diego last week about Cranes For A Cure. https://www.kusi.com/joeys-wings-displaying-2000-cranes-fo/?
