Please welcome our new Corps Officers to The Salvation Army Chula Vista Corps, Captains Adriana and Jesús Quintanilla! Captains Adriana and Jesús have worked for The Salvation Army in many communities including Santa Ana CA, Gilroy CA, and Pasco WA. They each received Associate of Arts in Ministry degrees from The Salvation Army Officer Training College in Crestmont, CA he in 2005 and she in 2016. We are happy to welcome you both to San Diego!

The Helpful Honda crew paid The Salvation Army Chula Vista Corps a visit and volunteered their time during a community food distribution. The new Rady Residence for intact families at the Door Of Hope Campus is nearing completion! Here is a sneak peek at what is soon to come. Signage has gone up on the outside of the building, the grounds are paved and plants neatly decorate the area. Rooms come complete with brand new beds and their fittings, fully stocked kitchens including pots and dishware, cleaning supplies for laundry and countertops, and towels and toilet paper in the bathroom.... Each of the four floors have a laundry room complete with wash area and full-sized washers and dryers. The Playroom for children and families is filled with fun, educational toys and activities for kids. The Library has books ready to be enjoyed. Computers will soon be added to help children with their schoolwork and assist parents with completing online resumes. The lobby area will soon be completed with a new front desk and decorated walls. We cannot wait to officially open our doors and begin helping those in our community find solutions to homelessness in San Diego! #FightForGood #endhomelessness

Thanks Las Patronas! The generous donation of a new box food truck to The Salvation Army East County Red Shield Community Center couldn’t have come at a better time. The need felt in our community is greater than ever. We are looking forward to serving even more people in East County with fresh foods, meals and necessities. Lunch is served at The Salvation Army - Oceanside. We’re serving freshly prepared nutritious meals to seniors 65+ every Monday - Friday at noon. Meals are always free but you can leave a donation if you’d like to help our senior nutrition program. Over 100 meals are served each week!
