For #BlackHistoryMonth we are honoring the #EverydayHeroes who help make a difference here in San Diego. Meet Major Regina Shull! Major Regina was introduced to The Salvation Army at a young age through the Sunbeams youth program. Throughout her youth, she continued her involvement through teen programs, Corps Cadet leadership training and has now been an officer in The Salvation Army for over 15 years.... With her husband Major Dave Shull and their 3 children, Major Regina has had the opportunity to spread her love throughout several ministries including the Youth Department, Women’s Programs at divisional headquarters, teaching children music, assisting seniors of Silvercrest and pastoring church programs at The Salvation Army San Diego Citadel Corps. Major Regina is truly a kind hearted person who cares about the needs of others. I love people. That is my main drive. If I can just share Jesus with people, then my heart is fulfilled. It was only natural for God to align me with The Salvation Army because I am a people person, and that is what they are about.

Door Of Hope Rady Campus received a large donation of 816 hand sanitizers from San Diego County District Attorney. Twenty backpacks filled with necessary hygiene supplies and clothing were also delivered. We are so grateful for this gift!

Happy Lunar New Year! The Salvation Army, Escondido Corps celebrated the holiday by preparing traditional dishes and decorations for the seniors at Salvation Army Silvercrest Senior Residence. The new Rady Residence for intact families at the Door Of Hope Campus is nearing completion! Here is a sneak peek at what is soon to come. Signage has gone up on the outside of the building, the grounds are paved and plants neatly decorate the area. Rooms come complete with brand new beds and their fittings, fully stocked kitchens including pots and dishware, cleaning supplies for laundry and countertops, and towels and toilet paper in the bathroom.... Each of the four floors have a laundry room complete with wash area and full-sized washers and dryers. The Playroom for children and families is filled with fun, educational toys and activities for kids. The Library has books ready to be enjoyed. Computers will soon be added to help children with their schoolwork and assist parents with completing online resumes. The lobby area will soon be completed with a new front desk and decorated walls. We cannot wait to officially open our doors and begin helping those in our community find solutions to homelessness in San Diego! #FightForGood #endhomelessness
