We wanted to update everyone on the Salt Fire here in Lakehead in regards to the resort. Salt Creek Resort, as far as the fire goes, is good. PGE has cut power here and we are waiting for an update on when it will be restored. Currently I5 is open both north and southbound. We are seeing smoke settling in, however our hope is that this will dissipate with the movement of the fire heading northeast. Our phone is currently not working. We ask for your patience and will update as things change. At this time we are praying that they are able to get containment and the air clears ! I took this photo at 6 am, sunrise this morning facing north.

Good afternoon Shasta Lake!!! The skies opened up and gave us an early start to the wet season last night and this morning! Our heaviest peak of rain was aroun...d 7:45am in which we had an hourly average of 1.91". The colors are indescribable right now, and my camera really isn't doing it justice. The storm quickly tapered off in the morning with scattered lightning strikes around the lake. Since then the clouds are continuing to scatter with plenty of blue sky. It seems as if the weather will partly cloudy for the next week with only small chances of rain. With the ground being very dry, it soaked up the water like a sponge. This is why the inflow has not yet surpassed the outflow. However, BOR did forecast that by the end of November we would be roughly 120' down. We still have 13 feet to go and as long as we get these storms, we might be able to stabilize for a week or two before we start filling again. As the weather patterns start to be more consistent, and as the lake starts moving up, we will surely keep you posted! You may find up to date weather information at our new weather station. It is located on the McCloud arm at the Lake Shasta Caverns Gift Store: https://ambientweather.net//e6b6e2a49b98567c41a423d7e2975d Lake Level Report (11/18/2020 at 1300 hrs) Lake Elevation: 959.21' (107.79' below full pool) 24 Hour Difference: -0.10' Lake Elevation (2019): 1017.68' (49.32' below full pool) Storage: 2,033,045 af (estimated) Storage (2019): 3,231,297 af Outflow (24 hr avg): 5,271 cfs Inflow (24 hr avg): 3,972 cfs Total Capacity: 45% Historical Average: 75% Precipitation (24 hr @ McCloud): 00.99" Precipitation (Season @ Dam): 01.22" Precipitation (2018-2019 Season @ dam): 0.25"
