Salem Science Fair 2021!

Today is Armenian Remembrance Day. It is also the day the United States officially recognized the genocide that began in 1915. At Salem, we recognize God’s call for us to be peace-makers and seek justice, mercy and love in our world.... Every year our school children plant Forget Me Not flowers to commemorate the Armenian genocide. Micah 6:8 God has told you what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with God.

Today was the first day that we were allowed in-person and on campus learning by the state and county ordinances. At this time we are only allowed a few TK & K students. We are hopeful that people continue staying healthy and more children will be allowed to return. Salem follows all laws and ordinances from the state and county and local governments during the pandemic. We closely monitor all safety precautions and make the health and safety of our students and teachers a ...priority. Please continue to wear your masks, socially distant, do not gather with people outside your household...if we all follow the rules - schools will be able to open!!! God bless you!

When I visited Mrs Johnston’s 2nd grade class today - everyone was wearing their uniform and ready to work on MATH!! It was great to greet these second graders who have definitely GROWN since March!

Next year (2021) Salem will resume the Trunk or Treat event. This year we will abide by County rules and restrictions. LA County is not allowing door to door trick or treating, trunk or treat events or parties. Please follow these rules for the sake of ending the pandemic. Let’s continue to stay safe and healthy. Although we are starting remote - we are prepared to transition immediately to in-person learning when the state and county allow us!!!
