What’s new with the Sacramento Women’s Chorus? Our mission and future remain strong and focused. Our SWC Executive Board has been working hard to achieve our goals, promote our chorus and nurture our members. Our Music Professionals continue to help us stay engaged, learn, and grow our musical abilities. Members of the chorus are meeting via Zoom to rehearse for a holiday virtual concert to be announced soon for a Facebook live event in December! We have participated as a...n exhibitor in the 2020 Virtual Sacramento Women’s Expo on October 10, 2020, where we chatted with attendees about the chorus and presented a SWC informative video. We have held outdoor socials where members could safely gather and reconnect in person. We will be attending the large Gala Leadership Symposium, held virtually this year in mid-October, where all SWC members will be able to attend sessions of their choice. Our annual meeting will be held via Zoom on November 2, 2020 where we will hold elections, review chorus financials, and participate in some fun virtual activities. Where in the world is the Sacramento Women’s Chorus? We are still here! We are following health and safety guidelines and until we can come together to rehearse and perform for you again, we remain committed to our purpose. We are holding online small group meetings, and all member fun evenings. Our music professionals are teaching us music and vocal techniques to become better singers. Our Board of Directors and Team Leads are planning and exploring ways to sustain our vital... organization for the present and for the future. We understand that our world is suffering physically, spiritually, and economically. The Sacramento Women’s Chorus remains dedicated to continuing our message of peace, justice, and inclusion. We will use this time for growth and introspection and be stronger for it. We are missing you, our audience, and are so grateful for all your support in the past. Our 81 members miss singing together fiercely; we hope that soon we will make music together that will be a part of the healing process. Until then, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our concerts originally scheduled for October and December 2020.
