The whole damn system is guilty. The problem is not in Minneapolis, or Louisville, or Tallahassee. It’s not in Ferguson (#MichaelBrown) or Oakland (#OscarGrant) or Texas (#SandraBland). #SayTheirNames. The disease of white supremacy and violence against Black people is literally everywhere. It is built into the very fabric of our institutions. And it’s up to us to destroy, dismantle, and divest from those institutions.... Black lives are sacred. And Black power matters.

What we woke up to this morning is exactly what we expected and prepared for. We may be feeling tired from all the work we’ve done to raise our voices, and by the daily realities of pandemics and racial injustice we may also see reflected in elections. But we have much to be proud of, and can continue to inform each other and work together in the days ahead. We’re with you all the way. ... #everyvotecounts #CountOnUs #WeMakeTheFuture

This year, a record number of Americans chose to vote by mail. Because their ballots need to be opened, verified, and counted, it will take a bit longer than usual to know our election results. With patience + perseverance, together we'll ensure that every vote is counted. #CountOnUs #WeCount #Election2020 #Vote2020

Remember: final results may take longer than usual, and that's OK--because #EveryVoteCounts! #CountOnUs #WeMakeTheFuture #VotePoz

Remember: Our elections include 51 separate counts across states and DC each administered by qualified officials who take their job of counting eligible votes seriously. Results that take longer than usual only mean that all votes are being counted. If the race is close, counting every vote could mean going days or weeks without being certain of the final outcome. And that’s OK. #election2020 #votepoz #CountOnUs #WeCount #WeMakeTheFuture <3

A best practice is to pause and ask yourself: Does this make sense? Who is behind this information? How outlandish does it seem? Consult fact-checking websites such as Snopes or Politifact, or the U.S. Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA)’s Rumor Control webpage that pre-bunks areas of potential disinformation.
