Please join us for an evening of fellowship, faith, and fundraising! The Sacred Heart Pastoral Council along with J. Lohr Vineyards and Wines are teaming up to host a fundraiser to help support West Valley Community Services (WVCS) Rental Assistance Program. J. Lohr will lead participants on a virtual tasting tour of three of their outstanding wines, exclusively tasting one of their wine-club-member-only selection.... After savoring some delicious wine, Father Gary and Father Robert will reflect on how God’s word teaches us that we are the continued presence of Jesus and that our actions, through community outreach we are given the opportunity to reveal God’s love for people in need. May our hearts be open to all peoples and nations of the earth. May we recognize the goodness and beauty that you have sown in each of us, and thus forge the bonds of unity, common projects, and shared dreams. Amen. Pope Francis, in concluding prayers Fratelli Tutti (2020)

This is the 3rd year that Sacred Heart parishioners have graciously provided a safe, quiet place and food for homeless people who are living in their cars. Due to COVID-19 we are not able to offer our guests a warm place to eat their dinner as the Parish Center is closed. However, they are all grateful for the warm dinner they receive each night, the sack lunch for the next day, and boiled eggs, cereal boxes, fresh fruit and all the other food items we are able to offer them.... It seems unfriendly to just put out food at the end of the table for them to take, keeping social distancing, but we are all doing what we can to help those most in need. And they understand why they need to eat in their cars. We have 10 to 12 guests arrive each night. They are all on the roster provided by Los Amigos de Guadalupe, the organization that vets all the RSCP guests and provides them with social services. Some arrive late or leave early based on their work schedules. HELP NEEDED We are in great need of 2 volunteers each night for Hospitality/Check-in. Since most of our guests are men, it would be lovely to have men greeting them, at least occasionally. It only takes 1 hours at the Parish Center patio (6:45 to 8:15PM) to mark guests as present, set out the meals, make someone a cup of coffee or hot chocolate using the Keurig, and put away all the supplies. Training provided. If you have any questions, please email [email protected] CLICK HERE to volunteer: https://shdsj.ivolunteer.com/rscp_20

Rachel Garcia will be leading a bible study on the Gospel of Luke. Please join her in discussions of what the message is for us. Bible Study: The Gospel of Luke Luke offers a powerful message that Jesus, Messiah and Son of God, is also a potent symbol of God's devotedness to the poor and marginalized. In Luke, Jesus teaches us about discipleship, demonstrates care for the poor, and announces God's reign on earth. ...
