Until we can play together again, we are offering a Drive By and Say Hi event this Sunday, January 17, from 10-11am. Explorability families are invited to drive through at the museum, say hi to Leo and friends, and take home an educational goody bag. (families will be asked to stay in their cars) The event is free, but reservations are required. Please RSVP by 1/15 through the ticketing link on our Facebook event.... (ExplorABILITY is a twice monthly open-format, play-based program for children on the autism spectrum, ages two to ten)

All you need for today's Science Sunday experiment is a plate, dry erase marker, and water. First, draw anything onto the plate with the dry erase marker. Then add water, enough to cover the drawing. Watch to see the drawing lift...and float! Can you guess how that happens? Tell us and we will send you a Sacramento Children's Museum sticker!... #SCMatHome #scmkids #sackids #sciencesunday #scienceforkids

Leo and friends are creating Dancing Corn for Science Sunday! This experiment is a little messy. Measurements for each ingredient is 1/3 cup. Pour in the corn, vinegar, and baking soda last. Initially, you'll have a fun fizzy reaction. But it's after the fizzing stops that the corn starts to dance! Small molecules remain for about 15 minutes and those tiny molecule pops pushes the popcorn up slowly. It's mesmerizing to watch. #scmkids #SCMatHome #sciencesunday
