One of our original Amazons will be missing out on her Senior year of college rugby. We are so proud of you Jaida Kafovalu! We love you! #AmazonBuilt When I was playing in high school, my coaches Fesi Green, [current coach] Koloa Tausinga and Tueni Samate had the biggest impact on my game, Kafovalu reflected on 10 years playing rugby. Their coaching and lessons had a huge impact on how I play and I’ve carried their style of play throughout my entire college career. They’ve taught me a lot about the game and instilled how important keeping strong culture is. They still support me until this day in my rugby career and I will always be thankful for all that they've done for me. -Jaida Kafovalu

She earned... the nickname "baby" when she joined the SacPAL Amazons as an 8th grader and was introduced to the (previously named) GHSAAs prior to freshman year. She would have been *the* veteran in spring 2020, and although she's hurting, but there's more to come from this NorCal staple. . I’d like to thank everyone that helped prepare our SacPal U16 girls for this LA7’s trip. Steve & Ana helping with the curry plate sales. Siope and Venus with the cup cake sales. SacPal rugby club for paying the entry fee for this tournament. I also would like to thank coach Marcus who coaches St Mary’s HSG rugby 7’s team for jumping on board to help me coach this team that we took to compete. Thank you to all the parents for the support before and during this trip and for allowing me to be part of this amazing rugby players journey. Our girls did great at the tournament. From losing the first game by 2pts then ending up beating the 2 teams that where undefeated in the cup semifinal and cup final. Our girls are your LA 7’s 2020 U16 Cup Champions. WOW!!!! What an accomplishment.
