Who is heading out of town for the Fourth of July? It is going to be busy at SMF July 1-5. Here are five travel tips to make your trip a breeze! 1. Arrive at the airport at least two hours before your flight to ensure plenty of time to get to your gate. 2. Figure out where to park BEFORE you leave your house. Download the app for your airline before heading to SMF it can alert you of flight notifications and so much more. 5. And lastly, don’t forget your mask! Masks remain mandatory for all travelers, employees and visitors while inside the airport. Thanks for being patient and kind to one another during holiday travel.
ROADWAY WORK AT SMF Please be advised, from Oct. 23 to 30 a roadway construction project at SMF could potentially delay travelers arriving at the airport. Please follow signs and detours and allow extra time before your flight to accommodate for any possible delays. Thank you for flying SMF!
Hawaii for the holidays! Hawaii’s Pre-Travel Testing Program will allow some travelers an exception from the state’s 14-day mandatory quarantine. SMF has a number of options to get travelers to Aloha state with direct flights on Hawaiian Airlines, Alaska Airlines and Southwest Airlines. The centerpiece of Terminal B, Lawrence Argent’s Leap came to SMF in 2011. The 56-foot tall red rabbit appears as though it was leaping from the outside of the airport - in- and because it's instantly recognizable it allows visitors to come up with their own story or answer to the question - Why a red rabbit?" ROAD CLOSURES AT SMF Please be advised, during the next three weeks a roadway resurfacing project at SMF will require the closure of three ramps and parts of Crossfield Drive. Please allow extra time before your flight to accommodate for potential delays. Please follow detour signage to alternative routes.

The deadline for REAL ID enforcement has been extended. The new deadline is October 1, 2021. At that time, every air traveler 18 or older will need a REAL ID-compliant driver's license, state-issued enhanced driver's license, or another acceptable form of ID to fly within the US.
