As Salaamu Alaikum everyone, Sheikh Ramadhan Mufakkir Abdullah will be at SABA for the first 10 days of Ramadan. He will be here for the Q&A sessions. Sheikh Nabil Awan will be conducting the English speeches. For those who do not know Sheikh Ramadhan, also known as Sheikh Victor, he was born and raised in St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. He grew up in a Catholic household. As a teenager, Sheikh Ramadhan became a Rastafarian. As a young man, Sheikh Ramadhan decided to... embark on a spiritual journey which led him to a copy of the Quran in a library. After reading the first few verses of Surah Baqarah, he felt so touched by the words that he decided to become a Muslim. Further reading later led him to the teachings of Ahlul-Bayt a.s. He graduated from the Imam Ali Seminary in Orlando Florida which was established by Sheikh Mohammad Baig and it is now located in California. After completion of his howza studies in Florida, he continued his studies in Najaf, where he has been studying for 3 years. He will be returning to Najaf to continue his studies soon insha'Allah. The Saba Welcoming Program is back! Designed to welcome newcomers to SABA during the month of Ramadhan, we need YOUR help to make it happen. We are currently recruiting active community members to act as Hosts for at least one evening program during the first week of Ramadhan to show interested newcomers around SABA. This is a great opportunity to welcome converts, people who have recently moved to the Bay Area, or anyone who is interested in joining our community. Here’s h...ow it works: simply fill out the registration form for Hosts listed below, and a week or so before the start of Ramadhan you will receive an email with the name and contact information of your assigned Guest. You then arrange to meet each other at one of the evening programs during the first week of Ramadhan, and from there you will act as Host to your newcomer Guest. It’s that simple! If you are interested in participating as a Host, please fill out this registration form: http://goo.gl/forms/qMzEmvqvYI If you are new to the SABA community, we encourage you to participate as a Guest. Please register here: http://goo.gl/forms/rElD30cfgw If you have any questions about this program, please send us an email at [email protected]. Thank you for participating in our efforts to make SABA a more welcoming and inclusive community, and Ramadhan Mubarak!
