Just returned from the evacuation center at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. Several dozen West County folks there. They are still able to accept evacuees. You ca...n sleep in the main room on cots, in another room if you have pets and they are allowing people to sleep in the grass behind Grace Pavilion in tents. If you bring an RV, they will allow you either to park inside the fence and use the meals, showers, and bathrooms, or you can also park your car or RV in surrounding areas and use the services if you register at Grace Pavilion. There are no dumping services available. Things are fluid but they are working very hard to make as many people as comfortable as possible. See more

Last night we had a very exciting Zoom meeting as our Sponsorship Committee announced that for the first time in the clubs history we will be honoring ALL Class of 2020 seniors from El Molino High School and Laguna High School that applied for our scholarship. In total we will be awarding 50 High School Seniors. They have had a challenging year and we felt they deserve recognition and so much more...More details to come... We love you Class of 2020! 2020

AIR QUALITY FORECAST With the threat to life safety and structures diminishing, it’s time to refocus on our health. Here’s a look at the local air quality for...ecast. Healdsburg, Windsor, West Santa Rosa, and the lower River are expected to be heavily impacted by smoke today. According to Fire Weather Program lead meteorologist John Pendergrast, A strong morning inversion in the lower slopes and valleys will not lift until early this afternoon. The most significant smoke will persist over west Santa Rosa, Healdsburg, and Guerneville. See more

GOOD NEWS THIS MORNING: Firefighters fought hard all night and successfully kept the fire in check. Containment has doubled this morning to 30%. Kincade Fire ... Firefighters’ efforts last night yielded positive results, and they were able to keep the fires from progressing into our communities despite the wind event. 76,825 Acres burned; 30% Containment Weather A Red Flag Warning will be in effect from 8:00 a.m. Tuesday (10/29) to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday (10/30) for the North Bay including all of Santa Rosa. Offshore winds will weaken but remain locally gusty Wednesday afternoon. This week, overnight temperatures are expected to drop to the mid to upper 30s. Cold Weather Code Blue Advisory in effect. Power Shutoff Event 86,713 customers impacted. Initiation of re-energization process anticipated by 8 am on 10/30/19. If lines are undamaged, or minimal damage that can be repaired quickly, PG&E expects to have most of Sonoma County’s electricity back on in 12-16 hours thereafter, depending on when the all clear and power restoration occurs. Gas was restored yesterday to Cloverdale. Gas expected to be restored today to Forestville. Do not have information on Graton or Sebastopol area and will keep pushing for this.

*THIS INFORMATION IS NO LONGER CURRENT* Update from our 6:30 briefing: The Kincade fire is now 54,298 acres, and containment has dropped to 5%. 94 structures ha...ve been destroyed, 78 have been damaged, and another 80,000 remain threatened. 2 firefighters have been injured (one minor, one more serious). As the CalFire Chief said, we are in the heart of fighting this fire. Our fire teams did incredible work today defending the eastern border of Healdsburg and Windsor, preventing it from pushing into the NE side of Windsor. The head of the fire remains at the SE side of Windsor near Shiloh. There are 3,400 firefighters working their tails off to hold it out of the city, and to prevent it from turning south into Santa Rosa. Thus far, they have been successful preventing it from crossing 101. While no additional evacuations are currently expected, the wind is picking back up and the red flag warning will remain in effect until 11am with critically low humidity, so be prepared in the event that the wind shifts and the fire takes a turn. After 11am, there will be about 24 hours where we will see decreased wind speed and decreased fire intensity...but come Tuesday afternoon, another wind event will blow through. If additional evacuations are needed, 101 South is completely open. 101 North is not north of Santa Rosa. Be careful driving, as there is substantial debris on the roads. There remain 200 police officers patrolling and looking for looters. While they have not seen any, they did make one arrest already for illegal reentry from someone who had no business being in an evacuation zone. We also have additional resources, such as the national guard and out of state agencies responding. It will be a long night, but hopefully we have good news when the sun comes up tomorrow. We will keep you posted as things change through the night.

GET OUT NOW. We are seeing fire spotting. This fire is raging and cannot be stopped. Sebastopol evacuation is now mandatory. North Santa Rosa is now mandatory.... If you are following CAL FIRE’s mapping this includes zones 8, 9, and the unincorporated (non-city-of-Santa-Rosa) areas of zone 6. Nearly all of my district and at least half of our county are now under MANDATORY EVACUATION. PLEASE GET OUT NOW. Head South unless you are north coast in which case head north to The Sea Ranch and Mendocino. (Use the common sense that I know you have, since you’re west county.) If you are in a safe zone, please pray for our county, for our first responders, for our homes. If you are not in a safe zone, please leave IMMEDIATELY.

WINDSOR, HEALDSBURG, WEST COUNTY if you’re not out, GET OUT. It is 1:50AM. We have received reports of winds gusting up to 60mph on the peaks. If you’ve been... tracking the fire on our wildfire camera network, the winds are strengthening the flames and the glow is burning brighter and higher. This is growing into the kind of fire that will throw embers well in advance of the front and will start to move quickly. If this fire crosses the 101 and gets into the timber of the north coast and river, it could quickly turn into a highly dangerous crown fire, running along the tops of trees at extreme rates of speed. Please do not risk the lives of our first responders by staying home. Please evacuate immediately if you are within mandatory evacuation zones. Please be ready to go and consider leaving now if you are under advisory. Today’s College Tee assembly was the largest one ever, and it included 6 west county school districts and 300 kids.
