The Officers for the Ya-Ka-Ama Board of Directors have been busy. Chairperson Mario Hermosillo, Jr., Vice-Chair Robert Olivarez, Treasurer Joe Pina and myself, Secretary Sherry Steele raised over $4,000 in one day! We managed parking for the Mud Run hosted by the SRJC Shone Farm and charged $10 per car. It was a fun day and wildly successful. This weekend we are at it again. The Officers worked together to host a Baseball Tournament at the Land. Special thanks to Vice-Chair Robert Olivarez, Treasurer Joe Pina and Joe "Cappy" Silva for going the extra mile to make this event come together. Good Luck to all the teams!!!

My name is Sherry Steele. I am the Secretary of the Ya-Ka-Ama Board of Directors. I want to introduce the community to an exciting project I started working on last year. Ya-Ka-Ama applied for a Low Power Radio Station license. This is a rare opportunity for our own Native Radio Station. Keep your fingers crossed! It is looking like we are going to beat out the competition. I will keep you posted. Many thanks to the other officers for all their hard work on this project and many others - Chairperson Mario Hermosillo Jr., Vice-Chair Robert Olivarez and Treasurer Joseph Pina.
