Runyoners one of our regulars, Robbie Shaffer, came across a rattlesnake on the ridge above the paved road during his afternoon walk. The trail is narrow and can be dangerous for off leash dogs and humans unable to see in the underbrush. Robbie was lucky and saw the snake before getting too close. If you need to walk or run in these areas, please do it early in the morning before rattlers come out to sun themselves. Walk in clearer areas in the afternoon to avoid an expensive trip to the Vet or ER.

For the past decade, Sydney of Runyon has served as the page mascot. Thank you for the memories sweet girl. A great life looping every trail, hitting every beach, licking everyone who touched you! You survived the LA Dogworks fire and later trained on drills with LAFD. But that big C came hard and fast. We love you! RIP... Sydney is survived by three little human brothers, huge family, and countless Runyoners who called her their own. May we all be so lucky. 27 Aug 2018.
