Mushin is defined as no mind. In this state, a person is perfectly in the moment where thought and action become one. If you practice Jiu-Jitsu consistently this becomes an important part of training: the concept of time is irrelevant, minutes feel like seconds and the only thing that exists at that moment is the execution of technique. We can’t fix the world, but we can offer a chance to forget our anger, sadness and fear at least for a little bit. Tonight Royce Gr...acie Jiu-Jitsu of Fresno reopens for the first time in over two months. We will practice as safely as possible and utilize every effort for social distancing. But to paraphrase the greatest of all time, Muhammad Ali, Birds fly, fish swim, waves pound sand, I train to fight. And back to training we go. Pee Wees 5:15, kids 6:15, adults 7:15 tonight Monday June 1st, 2020. The world won’t change much in that hour but we will sweat and persevere, and maybe channel our problems into something that makes sense, if only for a moment.
