RGFPSL is very proud that not only do we offer a great recreational softball program for the kids in our community we offer a B and A level program. Rocklin Rebels our league’s A program is a highly competitive all year travel ball team. We have teams in the 10U, 12U, 14U,16U and 18U division’s. Typically we host tryouts in November but due to Covid restrictions we will not be hosting open tryouts.... Tryouts will be scheduled through the individual coaches. Tomorrow’s clinic has been cancelled due to bad air quality.

We are grateful to those who registered to play fall ball this season. The proposed practice start date of August 22nd is not realistic given the current health situation. The board has decided to revisit a fall ball start date after Labor Day weekend. We understand that the odds are not in our favor for a fall ball season to actually take place, but Placer County and the City of Rocklin are supportive of youth sports. They are allowing conditioning and training to continue, as long as it meets the guidelines. While we wait for some of the uncertainty to fade, we are going to offer some conditioning clinics for girls registered for fall ball. Look for info on these clinics in 10-14 days.

RGFPSL families, This time of year the league typically advertises for Rebels A and Thundercats B program try outs. This summer due to State and County Covid 19 restrictions we will not be holding league tryouts. It is the league’s hope that we can run a fall season and hold league tryouts in November/December. The Rebels A program with teams in the 10U-18U age division is hopeful they might be able to have a late summer and fall season. Tryouts for any of the Rebels team wil...l be by appointment only. Each coach/team will be running tryouts based on need and as individual teams. If you have a daughter who you believe has the skills required to play on a Rebels team please reach out to the coach of the team in the age appropriate bracket and arrange a private tryout. Thundercats will hopefully consider forming 2021 teams in November/December. Forming of Thundercats in late fall will only take place if the league is allowed to participate in a fall season. If a fall season of play does not fall within the County guidelines the league will attempt to form Thundercats teams in early to late spring of 2021. We understand the disappointment this may cause your daughter and family. Trust us when we say we too are disappointed. The league wishes we all could be out playing the great game of softball. Rocklin Girls Softball would like to thank our sponsors, (Pathwater, Elite Power and Von Housen Auto Group), for their generosity which allows us to brighten up the lives of some of our beloved seniors. We have elected to award higher education scholarships to three deserving high school seniors, all of whom have been a big part of our league. We all stand beside you in spirit and adoration for what you and your fellow students have accomplished. Congratulations to Sydney Bec...ker, Ashley Kramer and Emma Wuelfing! Rocklin High School Class of 2020: Sydney Becker; GPA 3.5 - Sydney will be attending Boise State University in the fall. She played in our league from 2006-2015, playing as both an All-Star and a Thundercat. Sydney is also an accomplished comp soccer player. Her mother volunteered as a coach and a board member for several years. Ashley Kramer; GPA 3.6 - Ashley will be attending Sierra College in the fall where she will continue her softball journey. She played in our league from 2010-2014, with one season as an All-Star and a Thundercat. She played competitive softball after her years in our league. Her father served as the league treasurer for several years. Emma Wuelfing; GPA 3.9 - Emma will be attending Dominican University of California in the fall, where she will also be playing basketball as a Penguin. She played in our league from 2008-2014, with one season as an All-Star and a Thundercat. Emma has also participated as an assistant coach for Rocklin Youth Soccer for four years and is currently the head coach of a youth basketball team.
