Is everyone out there OK? This earthquake was crazy! I was sitting on the soil in my garden and trying to get some work done when I heard sloshing. I yelled out for my dog and walked up to the entire backyard being flooded with pool water. My beautiful Husky seemed unfazed by the incident, but I think this may have been the biggest quake I've ever felt. How are you all doing?

Cloudy and rainy weather in May ... Love it or hate it? It's so weird! It's nice to have a break from the inevitable heat that's coming in June. I don't enjoy mucking around in the mud when I feed the animals, but a girl has to do what a girl has to do. I try not to complain about the rain too much because we had such a horrible drought that we need all the rain we can get, even if they say we're not in a drought anymore. So I guess I'm OK with rain in May. This p...hoto was actually taken January 10, 2017, but I felt this weather was a good excuse to pull it out and use it before we all start frying in the sun. Enjoy it while you can. Happy "Caturday" ... Kitten edition! If anyone is looking for a kitten, please send them my way. We have a few male kittens. They are seven weeks old (born March 22) and ready for new homes. One boy is a black tuxedo; he even has a black chin. The other is white with three gray spots and a gray tail. The last one in the back is a mix of white and gray patches. He may or may not have a home. I don't know where they're coming from or if they're being dumped (horrible!), b...ut they keep showing up. We will be taking the momma cat in to get spayed soon enough. In the meantime, if we could find homes for these cuties, that would be great. Please share if you can. Spring is here, and the flowers are starting to bloom. In the next couple of weeks we will start to see all of the roses coming out, and it's going to look so pretty for the spring weddings. . Have you ever seen a hummingbird moth? For a couple of weeks in the spring I notice "hummingbirds" fluttering through all the flowers during the day and into the evening, but if you get close enough you'll realize it's actually a huge moth. It's really quite fascinating because they s...o closely resemble hummingbirds in size and behavior. They even sound a bit like hummingbirds when they're flying. This particular moth was fearless and nearly hit me in the face as it buzzed past me. It loved these daffodils and spent quite a while buzzing through them all. I'm not usually a fan of moths, but I always found these guys intriguing. What do you think?
