Some people have been asking me what is Robbers Roost Ranch. So let me explain in more detail. Robbers Roost Ranch is a Mini-Mart and soon to be completed Restaurant situated on 138 acres, located on HWY 14 in Inyokern (formally the Community of Armistead) in Kern County, California. Robbers Roost caters to off-Highway Vehicles - OHV (Dirt Bikes, Quads, 4x4's, Side by Side Cars, etc.) and freeway traffic heading North to places like Mammoth Ski Resort and travelers heading So...uthbound towards Los Angeles and Bakersfield. A BRIEF HISTORY: Robbers Roost is a historical site, wherein the 19th century (1874), outlaws Tiburcio Vásquez and his gang were known to use, Robbers Roost to spot stagecoaches moving south towards Los Angeles through the Antelope Valley from the Owens Valley or west through Walker Pass towards the San Joaquin Valley. Modern-day Walker Pass is State Route 178. The site of Vásquez's local camp was in the craggy peaks south of Coyote Holes station. From that day on, this jagged rock is easily seen from Highway 14 has been known as Robbers Roost. We also have a 5-ton Army Truck that can service (pump) your Gray/Black Waste Tanks and can also deliver Non-Potable Water to your RV. Either at Robbers Roost or in the Dove Springs area. This service will allow you to extend your RV'ing experience without having to go into town to unload or load your tanks, or having to head home with full tanks. Robbers Roost has a ghost town which is fun to take pictures in front of the buildings and some old western farming equipment. Robbers Roost also sells Firewood (pine, oak or a mixture) that you can pick up or have it delivered to your campsite near Robbers Roost. No need to carry that extra weight in your RV and Trailers from home.
