Riverside County has returned to the Purple Tier State health officials announced that Riverside County would return to the Purple Tier of California’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy. This means several types of businesses will be required to move their operations outdoors in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. Following this reclassification, Riverside County released a statement underscoring the importance of regular testing to accompany the practice of physical dist...ancing, proper handwashing hygiene, and wearing protective face coverings. The statement can be found here (Spanish). Regular testing by a robust base of county residents will allow the county to have a more accurate depiction of the virus’s spread across the community, which in turn will support our efforts to return to the Red Tier and move further in the reopening journey. As a reminder, COVID-19 testing is free at county- and state-run testing sites and available to anyone, regardless of insurance or immigration status, or the onset of symptoms. There are 12 testing sites spread throughout Riverside County, both walk-in and drive-up services.
