#MeetTheWarriorTeam Karen Bartell is the First Lady of Army and Navy Academy. Her and MG Bartell have been at the Academy for 7 years, now starting their eighth and final year. "I define my role as Supporter in Chief. Having raised three boys, I am there to cheer on your sons’ sports and academic achievements which they always appreciate. Sometimes, I have to give them the Mom look, and they get that too. Also after 34 years as a military spouse I learned to just jump in a...nd help wherever it is needed. Here that may involve helping with events from making decorations to clean up and everything in between. And of course, I bake a lot of cookies." Mrs. Bartell shared her most memorable moment as "Meeting the new plebes that arrived in January 2014 the same time we did and then watching them thrive here, just like we did and believe that what we do here makes a difference. Five and a half years later, two of those mid year cadets rose to Battalion Commander and XO! Ready for Take Off? Check out the Aviation Elective in our Summer Leadership Camp. Your teen will develop leadership skills, alongside a chance to improve in math and science. The aviation elective introduces aeronautics through in-class discussions and project-based learning. You can find more info about our Summer Camps by visiting out website. This program covers: principles of flight, aircraft anatomy, space travel, remotely-piloted aircraft systems, and how to earn dr...one, glider, and private pilot licenses. Campers explore the elements of leadership during hands-on experiences and interactive classes. The ability to lead, work in teams, and communicate effectively are all part of building confidence. At Army & Navy Academy, we offer two tracks, one for an introduction to leadership, and the other an advanced leadership program for credit, and both offer an elective in aviation. Coach Brunson has been apart of the @armyandnavyacademy family for over 13 years. He was previously the Assistant Athletic Director and has coached football, golf and basketball just to name a few. He currently is the head Football Coach and can’t wait for the Football season to start for our #warriors
