CoreLogic's Home Price index rose 6.8% in the first 4 months of 2014 and we don't see any let up, which is great news for homeowners and not so good for the ever procrastinating homebuyer. In the first quarter, over 250,000 American homes that were underwater regained equity, and now 9 out of 10 American homes with mortgages have equity. 9 out of 10 with equity sounds pretty darn good, but when you consider the "with mortgages" factor, the numbers are even better than they might first have seemed. Considering that there are millions of homes throughout the country that have no mortgages, the negative equity problem we have seen over the last few years, is barely on the radar.
