There are so many amazing souvenir items from Richardson Mineral Springs. Some were pieces used around the resort and in the rooms like ash trays and others were sold in the gift store along with so many postcards.
In February of 1932 the Detroit Tigers Baseball Team held a Conditioning Camp at Richardson Mineral Springs. Afterwards the 20 or so players that attended met up with the rest of the club in Palo Alto for Spring Training at Stanford University’s Sunken Baseball Diamond. Some of the pictures are press or wire service photos that ran in newspapers highlighting the team’s pre-season activities. While they were at Richardson Mineral Springs, Chief Bender the Tigers Pitching Coach posed for what would become the famed logo of the resort, Chief Health Water. He was photographed and then the logo was created and it featured on the bluff above the hotel and on literature, furniture, ashtrays, souvenirs and more.
Here is a great very early postcard from approx 1910 in front of the original hotel at Richardson Mineral Springs. A Deer on a Horse, after the Hunt featuring Hans Graber & Bill Tillman posing with rifles after a hunt at Richardson Springs.

In May, Cal Fire Crews from the Butte Fire Center, participated in crew readiness exercises at Richardson Mineral Springs. The exercises are the standard for allowing the fire crews to be categorized as an initial attack Type I crew. Thank you Cal Fire for protecting our beautiful and amazing area. CAL FIRE
Chief Health Water became the logo and a big part of Richardson Mineral Springs. In February 1932, when the Detroit Tigers held a conditioning camp at the Springs. Their pitching coach, Chief Bender, modeled for the image that would become a major part of the resort with the giant "Indian" up on the bluff overlooking the hotel. People remembering the lights coming on at night to illuminate the sign.

Here is a very early picture that was dated 1907 of the Spanish Corral that the Richardson Springs Rd now goes right thru the middle of it on the way to Richardson Mineral Springs. From our reading the original road was further down the hill and the road was moved to straighten it out and keep it from flooding later and then paved. Second picture is from very close to where both half’s of the Corral still stand and the 3rd picture is the of the Old Spanish Corral that is still standing up above the Reservoir and Falls.
Here’s some pictures of some men pounding the anchor poles into the rock for the first Suspension Bridge at Richardson Mineral Springs accross the Falls. Anyone remember this or the one they built to replace the first one with?
