The American Graffiti Festival and Car Show presented by the Kiwanis Club of North Modesto is the only official American Graffiti event in the nation and the centerpiece of Graffiti Summer in Modesto. The parade will take place Friday night, August 20th in downtown Modesto with new protocols for personal space in consideration of spectators. We have lost a legend, Pete Hischier. It is so very sad that one of Modesto's best lost his battle with COVID. Pete was one of the best, from his early days ...with Gene Winfield, amazing cars, a founder of our cruising scene, beloved nursery owner, wonderful husband to his wife Shirley, great story teller and a true Modesto Legend. He lives on in his caring for our community, his love of his wife and friends and his legendary spirit that helped make Modesto the home of cruising and classic cars. We will miss you Pete and your memories will live on in as a Cruise Legend, and in the new Graffiti Museum. So sad to report that we have lost one of our Legends of the Cruise. Pete Hischier lost his battle with COVID. He was one of Modesto's true originals and was so key in our classic car and cruising history. He was a great family man, community volunteer and great guy. Our hearts go out to his wife Shirley and his family. The Modesto USA community will truly miss Pete.
