I like so many people had thriving businesses, we worked everyday to give people extraordinary experiences and then a Virus attacked the world. My unique store The Pressroom and Mercantile on the ground floor is a dream come true, and no...w the thought of it also closing and maybe becoming just an online business, or moving somehow is just too much. After all this stress and sadness, I just want to say, I am healthy, alive and grateful to my staff @kelseyreffett @israel_srs @decowitch our clients, customers, supporters and friends around the world! We are open daily in the store for now from 10am to 5pm daily and there are Treasures to be had, everything you see in this picture, and in this building is for sale as we prepare a massive estate sale happening in August! I am saddened to say I am going to sell my awesome historic building in SF, 1069-1071-1073 Howard Street, as this Pandemic is crushing me! For the last three weeks we have been breaking our backs to clear out our 4000 square foot basement in preparation of our Bed, Bath and Far Beyond liquidation s...ale of 4 former homes and 50 years of collecting! In addition to @theboxsf and @theboxsfevents I own Circa Props a prop rental company for Events, Photographers, Feature Film and Television Commercials. I never really talk about it here, but in a month or so I will be selling my Prop Rental Business and the entire inventory, along with stuff I have had in storage for over 35 years! Antiques, Home furnishings, Crafts, Gift Wrap, Kitchen, Art, Furniture, Shelving, Photography, Stuff and more Stuff and about 60 more boxes from my Printed Matter and Ephemera Collections and 1000’s of Books, CD’s and DVD’s So should you know anyone interested in the 1000’s of items we’ll have up for sale let me know. Based in San Francisco we sell All Things Printed! We operate and collect all over the world offering collections and individual items to our collector friends, crafters, designers, artists, institutions as well as interior designers. We have over 15 million items in our archives, as I have been collecting for over 52 years. I designed the store to look like an 1850’s Mercantile using all original fixtures and working Letterpresses from 1835 to 1925. QUARANTINE DAY 64 -SLOW UP The Pressroom and Mercantile here at @theboxsf has been shuttered under City and State Mandatory closure for 64 days now! Like many very small businesses, and so many individuals, we are hurting! I wanted to take a moment and ask those of you who still have your jobs, who are safe and healthy while working from home to do your best to support the small businesses your love, if not us any of those tiny businesses are are not capable prorate d...riven businesses! Non-Profits, Designers, Musicians and Artists are all in need! So far, I have committed to keep my small team employed despite an 85 percent drop in revenues. I will do do as long as I am able to, and don’t mind going deeper in debt if it puts food on their table. This is not easy for any of us, but so far we are grateful for the online business you are giving us, and the fact that we remain healthy! THANK YOU See more

I spent the second day setting up all 3 floors of this giant building here at @theboxsfevents @reflectur_com and @theboxsf with all of our 70 events tables, in first round preparation of our Props Liquidation and Basement Estate and Archive Sale once we are allowed to reopen! This sale will be to liquidate my other company Circa Props, my Props rental company for Photographers, Film and Television, along with items unrelated to my store but from my 50 years of Designing and Collecting all over the world! I saw a post on Instagram that Russ of @ludlowblunt posted and it reminded me of Albert Woods who was my Mom’s Godfather and the single most influential person in my Creative Life as a Graphic Designer, Art Director, Producer, Filmmaker and Musician. Albert was the lead Designer for Mosler Safe Company in Kansas City for over 50 years. Albert designed amazing, massive Bank Vaults and inner Vault interiors, including the massive door workings, cages, deposit boxes and even... the lighting! As a Child, we would visit Mamie and Albert, I would get to go upstairs to his home studio and watch him draw! I could barely see up to his @hamiltonwoodtype Drafting Table made around the turn of the century! The room was filled with rolls of Floor Plans, Vault Drawings and more. Needless to say, I was beyond excited each time we visited. Years later when Albert Died, my Dad came to me and told me that Albert had asked that I get some of his things. I went to the house, now about 14 years old, to find he left me his Hamilton Drafting Table, his Drawing Instruments, and rolls of original drawings and blueprints of his Vaults, Banks and more! To this day, that table has been the only Desk I have ever used in my career nearly 50 years later! Be grateful for your Mentors, be grateful for your sources of inspiration (Note: This Vault door is very much like the drawings Albert left me, but this picture is NOT his design.
