It's Monday introduction time! Juliana Lustenader, aka Jules, designs patterns inspired by San Francisco and the city's artistic communities. Jules is not only ...a knitwear designer, but also a theater artist and performer. Before shelter in place, most of her time was spent writing, rehearsing, and performing new plays and musicals in San Francisco. Now she has diverted her creative energy into her knitwear design process. Over the past few years, her patterns have been published in popular knitting books and magaizines, including Knit Picks, Knitscene, I Knit SF, and Twist Collective. She especially enjoys working with local yarn dyers to create one-of-a-kind designs that celebrate the Bay Area. Jules is so excited to be a part of the Bay Area Fiber Fair and to share many new designs with you. . . . #BayAreaFiberFair #BayAreaSmallBusiness #BAFFMakers See more

It was Cat Bordhi’s book , Socks Soar on circular needles that got me back into the fiber arts 25 years ago. She was such a genius, and so generous with her knowledge. RIP Cat.

We hope you're ready to start your week off right with another Monday introduction! Meet Karalee Harding of Karalee Harding Designs. Karalee likes to design acc...essories that are fun to knit and easy to wear; many of her patterns are specifically designed to be adaptable, with samples worked up in more than one size or yarn weight. Her favorite thing is combining texture with lace. As a process knitter, she always tries to design an enjoyable and satisfying knitting experience as well as a distinctive and wearable finished object. Karalee is also the right-hand woman at Little Skein in the Big Wool, as well as a once and future (hopefully!after the pandemic) employee of Firebird Yarns. Something most people don’t know about her is that she holds a Ph.D. from U.C. Berkeley and used to be a professor of Greek and Latin. Her non-fiber-related activities include singing in her church choir, drawing terrible self-portraits, and reading a lot of books . . . . #BayAreaFiberFair #BayAreaSmallBusiness #BAFFMakers See more
