Tomorrow at 11 we are meeting at the Northeast Park in Rincon Valley, Santa Rosa. Bring your needlework, mask, chair, and table if you need one. It should be in the 60's, so let's enjoy the drought even while complaining about it!

While we're sheltering in place, Redwood Stitchers has started a zoom room on Wednesdays from 11-1:30. Leave Sharon Cronan a message if you want the meeting code. We will not be meeting July 1st on zoom. This is mostly a stitch-in, although some of us are starting our fireworks class with mutual support.

While we're all sheltering in place, this is a good chance to work on a U.F.O.! Or any other stitching that wants to get done! Hope to see you all soon, Sharon

sorry about not sharing this until today... STAMP, Elizabeth With great sorrow we mourn the sudden passing of Elizabeth Ann Coder Stamp who perished tragically in a house fire on June 18, 2017. She was 66. Liz was born in Sunnyside Washington on July 12, 1950 to Howard and Virginia Coder. She grew up in eastern Washington state and the Tacoma area, and around Norwalk California. In 1979 Liz and future husband Robert Stamp moved to Santa Rosa where they lived until now. They w...ere married for 35 years. Their only son Ian was born on August 27, 1984. Liz started work for Sonoma County in the Accounting Division of the Human Services Department continuing for 27 years in various departments and retiring in 2006. In her retirement she continued to enjoy her hobbies of reading, stitching, attending plays and concerts, camping, swimming and other outdoor activities, gourmet recipes, caring for cats and spending time with her extended family. Liz was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Virginia Coder and her Uncle Bob whom she cared for in Santa Rosa for 30 years. Liz leaves behind her husband Robert, son Ian and her sister Patricia Grace Coder, aunts Doris and Donna, her sisters and brothers in law, many cousins, nephews and nieces and devoted friends. Liz was a peaceful, fun loving person with never a harsh word. In addition to her online book club and Redwood Stitchers Chapter of EGA (where she was president for several years) Liz had a long standing subscription to SHN Broadway in San Francisco, enjoying all the latest plays. She loved musicals, old folk, rock and soul music, and playing board games, cards and online word games. A funeral to say goodbye will be held at the Santa Rosa Memorial Park chapel 1900 Franklin Avenue, Santa Rosa on Tuesday July 11, 2017 at 11 am. Please join us for a potluck reception following the service at Santa Rosa Mobile Estates office, 3420 Brooks Avenue Santa Rosa California. Our 1st year BA (Hons) Hand Embroidery for Fashion, Interiors, Textile Art Degree students currently have their hand embroidery work on display at The Dark Self...: Susan Aldworth Exhibition, 'One Thousand and One Nights' at York St Mary’s, from 7 June to 3 September, Wed-Sun 11am-4pm. The Dark Self is a major new exhibition by artist Susan Aldworth exploring the experience of sleep. A highly original and experimental artist known for her unorthodox printmaking techniques and philosophical investigations into the human brain and identity, in this exhibition Aldworth challenges us to reflect upon our nightly transitions from consciousness to oblivion. Aldworth uses the pillowcase as a visual metaphor for sleep, and it is a recurring motif. Visitors will be immersed in the installation, ‘One Thousand and One Nights’, which consists of hundreds of embroidered pillowcases sewn by people from across the UK, including our 1st year Degree students. https://www.yorkstmarys.org.uk/exhibition/the-dark-self/ #RSNDegree #unicreativearts See more
