There was a business insider article where Mark Cuban mentioned the best advice he has ever gotten was from his dad... "Today is the youngest you will ever be. Live like it." You know those really sort of obvious statements where you just have your mind blown?!... That is one of them right there. And it just seems so applicable right now when so many of us are waiting for the New Year to start working on our health and fitness goals. Or so many people are feeling discouraged that they can't ever have (insert goal here) because they are now "too old." The simple fact is, we can't go back. We can't get any younger. All we can do is capitalize on everything we have right now. And if you feel old today? Well guess what?! You're not going to get any younger! So why not do something to help your body move and feel its best at EVERY age? Why not do something right now to live your best life? You have the OPPORTUNITY right now to avoid being that person that, years down the road says, "If only..." or "I could have..." If you're not where you want to be, guess what? You can make a change TODAY! Will it be hard to potentially check your ego and regress to progress and rebuild? Yup. Will it be sucky to make a change and have to commit to things that will be uncomfortable and even overwhelming to start? Yup. But the thing is... IT WILL BE WORTH IT. It may not feel like it always in the moment, especially starting out. But think about it this way... It's hard feeling stuck and like you'll never reach your goals. It's hard regretting that you've never accomplished what you wanted. It's hard feeling like you aren't able to do the things you want. And it's hard making the change to move forward. But you can PICK your hard. To me, the "hard" of making a change is FAR more appealing. Because that change does get easier, we just have to give it time. The hard of regret? The hard of feeling stuck? Well those NEVER get easier until you embrace the hard of change. Stop waiting. Capitalize on the NOW. Write down 3 habit changes you will focus on this week and get moving forward!
