A Safety Tip from The Redding Fire Department: Sheds and any other outbuildings are not designed to be used as living spaces. Homes are built with particular safety measures in place to improve the chance of survival for the people and pets that live there. These safety measures include working smoke detectors, drywall to slow the spread of fire and windows in each bedroom large enough to escape from should the need arise.

Have you had a chance to check out @Discovery’s CAL FIRE limited series yet? It offers an inside look at what it’s like to fight a California wildfire. Shout out to our local fire-fighting partners @CAL FIRE Shasta-Trinity Unit and @CAL FIRE Tehama-Glenn Unit, other allied agencies and all of the men and women who have chosen a profession in firefighting. It’s not easy work, but it’s worth it. #CalFire #Discovery #LimitedSeries #CaliforniaWildfire #ZoggFire #PonderosaFire #AppleFire #ReddingFireDepartment #ReddingFirefighters #CalFireShastaTrinityUnit #Teamwork #Community

We are happy to report that hundreds of Shasta County foster children are now riding new bicycles this holiday season thanks to Bikes for Kids, a local organization that collects bikes year-round for kids in need. This special partnership with the Redding Fire Department is a great example of community members and organizations partnering together to meet community needs and spread some holiday cheer.
