Teamwork Makes The Dream Work! On 06-26-21, your Southwest Special Enforcement Team (SWS SET) noticed a burned-out light on a white Chevrolet Suburban that was towing a toy hauler trailer. A records check of the trailer showed it had been reported stolen! SWS SET requested assistance from Southwest patrol deputies, the Riverside Sheriff’s Aviation and K9 Units to conduct the traffic stop. Southwest patrol detained a male and female without incident. ... A search of the trailer revealed a stolen ‘Rhino’ Off-road Vehicle, and a search of the Suburban revealed Methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a handgun. Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Cois Byrd Detention Center. The trailer and ‘Rhino’ were returned to their rightful owner. Great work by all!!

There are no strangers here; Only friends you haven’t yet met. (W.B. Yeats) Deputies Collie and Stallard were greeted today by this beautiful lady, who presented them both with a ‘Challenge Coin’ on behalf of her late husband, Thomas, who had served as a law enforcement officer in San Diego for twenty years. A ‘Challenge Coin’ is typically a small coin or medallion which displays an organization’s insignia. Traditionally, Challenge Coins have been used to prove membership i...n an organization when ‘challenged.’ They are collected and cherished by military and law enforcement personnel, amongst other organizations. There is no monetary value to the coin. Both deputies feel honored and blessed to have met and connected with a member of our law enforcement family, in such a special way. #ServiceAboveSelf #ThinBlueLineFamily

Thou Shalt Not Steal Especially when a hawk-eyed Southwest Sheriff Station Community Service Officer is on the hunt for thieves!! This morning, while investigating a bicycle theft at Walmart, Community Service Officer Poteet observed a male adult who fit the suspect description provided the victim. The male happened to be riding a bicycle which fit the description of the victim’s stolen bicycle.... Not missing the opportunity to return a stolen item, while helping to capture a crook, CSO Poteet followed the suspect at a safe distance until Deputy Hawken arrived to make contact and take the suspect into custody. CSO Poteet had the happy task of calling the victim so he could retrieve his bicycle - which is his only transportation to and from work. Needless to say, he was thrilled! Phenomenal work, CSO Poteet!! Your dedication to your community is what makes the difference in Temecula!

grateful - /rtfl/ adjective: Feeling or showing an appreciation of kindness; thankful.... During this week of Thanksgiving, your Southwest Student Resource Deputy for Chapparal High-School, Deputy Waroff, would love to give his heartfelt thanks to those students from Students Against Destructive Decisions, who took the time to write him letters. In an age of e-mails, texts, and tweets, Deputy Waroff was rendered speechless by the outpouring of respect, appreciation and gratitude. It is our community that motivates us, and the future looks very bright indeed, with such genuinely conscientious young minds at the helm.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is aware of the new Limited Stay at Home Order issued by the Governor set to go into effect on Saturday at 10:00pm. ...It is very important that all of us do everything we can to protect ourselves from contracting or spreading this virus. The only way to ensure you do not contract the virus is to stay at home and avoid contact with others. For those going out into public, it is very important to protect yourself from contracting and/or spreading the virus by wearing a mask and social distancing. It has been the policy of the Sheriff’s Department to encourage responsible behavior and compliance with the Governor’s orders. Problems being addressed!!! Your Southwest Sheriffs Station Problem Oriented Policing (POP) team was formed for directed enforcement in the City of Temecula. This team is out and about working to keep the streets of Temecula safe. Today, at a local Motel, they stopped to converse with a couple standing outside of a car. During this conversation they learned the female had a warrant for her arrest. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded a gun and drugs. The gun belonged to her male half, who was a convicted felon. These two problems were booked at the #ByrdCage, and will receive a free meal on us and an introduction to the Southwest District Attorney’s Office. #GunsAndDrugs #ALittleTimeBehindBars #POP.

Of course, everyone is biased about their own towns - but Temecula outshines them all. Pastor Chris Mueller humbled us all with such a generous and delightful meal. All in attendance were, believe it or not, rendered speechless by our community’s continued support and generosity. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you Pastor Mueller and Faith Bible Church.
