Yesterday afternoon, Perris Station deputies became aware of a carjacking suspect’s vehicle driving within the city. An alert patrol deputy found the car & tried to catch up to it, but the driver ditched the car & ran into a residential neighborhood. With the help of our K-9 units & air support, deputies flooded the area & found 26-year-old George Thompson hiding under a trailer. The weapon used in the carjacking was found inside the suspect’s ride. Another bad guy off the streets & booked into jail. A job well done by all as they continue to protect and serve the community of Perris and surrounding areas. #YouHideAndWeSeek #CarjackersGoToJail #YouCanRunButYoullGoToJailTired

The Riverside Sheriff’s Department nor any other government agency will call to threaten you to be arrested if you don’t go to an ATM to withdrawal money, purchase a green dot, Bitcoin, or any other type of payment. In recent cases, suspects (posing as officials) demand payment for some type of violation or the person will be arrested. Sometimes, they call from what appears to be a department number and even give names of officials that work at the department. Although spoofing (duplicating) the department phone number can be done by certain people, anyone can obtain department official’s names. Please do not fall victim to this scam. #DontGiveYour$AwayToScammers

In September 2019, Deputies Patrick Walls and Cody Christensen responded to a local restaurant where they saw a family of four. Both parents appeared to be under the influence of illegal drugs, and the toddler and infant were in potential danger. Additionally, the mother was unresponsive and appeared to be suffering from an overdose. Acting quickly, the deputies recognized what they were dealing with and administered lifesaving measures to include NARCAN and CPR. After repeated attempts to resuscitate the mother, she began breathing and regained consciousness. The father was later arrested for child endangerment, and the children were removed from the custody of their parents. Great job, deputies! Pictured is Deputy Christensen holding his Life Saving Award. #AllLifeIsPrecious

This morning, the Perris Traffic Bureau helped Moreno Valley Traffic Bureau with catching 32-year-old Christopher Silvas. Silvas led Moreno Valley deputies on a pursuit when he came into the city of Perris and tried to squeeze between 2 cars stopped on Indian and Harley Knox. After the crash, Silvas took off on foot but was quickly found hiding in a recycling bin. Thankfully, no one was injured. Silvas was a parolee wanted for several felonies out of San Bernardino County. Great teamwork by all. #YouCanRunButYoullGoToJailTired #GreatHidingSpot

A reminder to stay vigilant. Last night, deputies responded to a Suspicious Circumstance call in the 1200 block of Burton Road, in Perris. Deputies learned a 14-year-old female victim was grabbed and assaulted inside a public restroom. Heroically, the victim struggled and screamed causing the suspect to stop and run away. The suspect’s license plate was obtained and deputies found him at his house. The victim positively identified the suspect, Matthew Lamantian-Leatherman, as the man that assaulted her and he was arrested and later booked into jail.

Late last night, while patrolling our businesses, we came across this young family preparing to sleep on a concrete slab behind a local business. This was not a typical homeless scenario. Without getting deep into the particulars, this young mother of three was in an argument with her significant other and as a result of that argument, they were dropped off on the streets. With nowhere to go and no one to call, they planned on spending the night on the streets. Being miles ...from home, late at night, with no resources, this appeared to be their only option. That is until your local neighborhood heroes, Corporal Rice, Deputy Ramirez, and CSO Othman pooled their money together and rented a room at the local Red Lion Inn. And wouldn’t you know it, their generosity was contagious and Red Lion Inn provided a discounted rate. This kind gesture ensured the family was safe and warm until they could take the train back to their home this morning. We’re happy to report mom & the kids made it back home and the picture is posted with mom’s permission. #GenerosityIsContagious #RedLionInn #NotAllHeroesWearCapes See more

Deputies Iniguez & Christensen responded to a Man Down call in the Mead Valley area about 3AM this morning & contacted Justin Combs, who appeared to be passed out in his car. Justin had a felony warrant for his arrest, & while conducting an arrest search, the deputies found a large quantity of meth, marijuana, and a loaded 9mm in his car. Justin was booked into CBDC. Just as in this case, if you see something that doesn’t look right, give us a call and we’ll check it out. Great job deputies, stay safe out there! #guns&dopedontmixunlessyoureuptonogood #dontdrawattentiontoyourself

About 12:30 this morning, Deputies Gomez & Krueger were patrolling the city when they stopped a car for a traffic violation. The car was rollin deep with 5 people & 2 out of the 5 in the car had 45’s on them. Alejandro Corrales had his 45 hidden in his waistband & Freddy Catalan tried to toss his, but c’mon Freddy, you think we didn’t see that? Freddy was also in possession of multiple baggies of cocaine. Alejandro was arrested for being in possession of a concealed firearm, while Freddy was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance while in possession of a firearm and for possession of cocaine. We’ll continue to keep the streets safe for our residents. Great job deputies! #caughtyoucreepin #firmecohetes

Deputy Carrico was on patrol in Perris when a bunch of neighborhood kids caught her attention. She stopped by to say hi and learned it was a birthday party, so she crashed the party and handed out coloring books & stickers for all the kids. #partycrasher #noinvitenoproblem
