Wonderful reunion from an incident last year. Great team effort that had a positive outcome.
Extremely thankful for our members, and all veterans, who served our country. Thank you for your service to protect our freedoms we enjoy as Americans. "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them." - John F. Kennedy
Today is Election Day! We hope you support Patricia Lock Dawson for Riverside Mayor!

Today we remember those who bravely set foot on the beaches of Normandy on Tuesday, June 6th 1944 during World War II. They fought for our liberty and freedom knowing full well they may not return to their loved ones. Let's join together to honor, commemorate, and celebrate all that they stood for! #DDayRemembrance #DDay
PLANNED DEMONSTRATION TODAY AT 4:00 P.M. The Riverside Police Department has learned over the past few days of a planned demonstration scheduled to take place today at 4:00 p.m., in front of the City of Riverside’s main library in the downtown area. We have safety plans in place to allow for the peaceful expression of our community members’ First Amendment rights regarding the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Unless you are attending this peaceful event, we... ask that you avoid the area as it occurs. The City of Riverside has declared a local state of emergency and established a citywide curfew, which the start time has now been superseded by the enacted curfew by the County of Riverside to begin at 6:00 p.m. tonight until 6:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. The declaration and emergency curfew orders can be viewed at www.RiversideCA.gov/Curfew. Please follow all City of Riverside, CA - City Government, Riverside Police, City of Riverside Fire Department, and City of Riverside Fire Department - Office of Emergency Management social media for updates throughout this state of emergency. The City of Riverside has launched a mass notification service that allows us to alert you in the case of an emergency. To sign up, visitwww.RiversideAlert.com.
EMERGENCY CURFEW ENACTED IN CITY OF RIVERSIDE Riverside, CA Due to civil unrest arising out of the protests over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the City of Riverside has declared a local emergency exists throughout the entire city. As such, a curfew has been implemented within the city limits beginning tonight at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2020, until 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2020. Riverside Police Chief Larry Gonzalez has requested this curf...ew to help maintain the peace and safety of all residents, business owners, and visitors of Riverside. Although we are expecting a peaceful and safe demonstration that will allow our community members to express their First Amendment rights, we will effectively address any attempts to disrupt those engaging in peaceful protest, stated Chief Gonzalez. Riverside is a city of unity and inclusivity, and we know our residents and businesses do not invite the criminal behaviors we’ve witnessed elsewhere. During the curfew, no person will be allowed in any public place with the exception of: Police, Fire, or Emergency Operations personnel Members of the National Guard or other responding military personnel People travelling to and from work Authorized members of the media Individuals seeking or providing emergency medical care Essential workers Individuals experiencing homelessness The curfew is not expected to last beyond this 11-hour period, but can be extended at the request of Chief Gonzalez, if necessary. The declaration of this local emergency recognizes the fact that, while a majority of protesters have acted lawfully, there has been a significant amount of criminal behaviors, including acts of violence against first responders and peaceful protesters, vandalism of public and private property, looting of businesses, and failure to follow lawful dispersal orders in communities across the country and throughout Southern California. The Riverside Police Department will not only provide the reactive services necessary to ensure public safety, but also commits to providing the proactive services that will ensure the unity within our neighborhoods. The state of emergency and curfew declaration can be viewed at www.RiversideCA.gov/Curfew. Please also follow all City of Riverside, Riverside Police, Riverside Fire, and Office of Emergency Management social media for updates throughout this state of emergency.
Today we as a nation collectively honor and commemorate all of those in the armed forces who have given their life over the years to protect our freedom. Let us join together in remembrance for the fallen and give thanks to the living carrying on their legacy each and every day. #MemorialDay2020
Horrific news out of Los Angeles. Our brothers and sisters at United Firefighters of Los Angeles City, IAFF Local-112 are in our thoughts and prayers.
Today California Governor Gavin Newsom announced his Executive Order on COVID-19 Rebuttable Presumption for all healthcare and public safety workers. This is a ...big win for our members and our brothers and sisters in the healthcare space as we fight on the frontline of this pandemic. Thank you to our longtime friend and partner Governor Newsom for your partnership on this legislation and for your quick action to protect those on the frontline. While this is only a precursor for our far-reaching and more aggressive California Professional Firefighters sponsored legislation on COVID Presumption (AB 664), this is a big step forward toward getting our members the care and time they need to get healthy and continue to serve our communities. Our hard work as 7th District within an alliance of Local Affiliates in #solidarity of CPF paid off. Special thanks to our Legislative Advocacy Team and CPF President Brian Rice. President Dave Gillotte personally thanked the Governor for his continued strong support for #Firefighters and the members we represent. #UnionStrong #HealthcareHeroes
Thank you to California Governor Gavin Newsom who signed an executive order facilitating access to the state’s workers’ compensation system for medical treatment and disability benefits for workers who contract COVID-19 while on the job. Firefighters, Police Officers, Medical Providers, Grocery Workers and other essential workers thank you for ensuring we have access to workers’ compensation after putting our lives on the line serving during this pandemic.
Firefighters dedicate their lives to protect our lives and community. That dedication comes in the form of countless hours selflessly volunteered over the years. Every moment they leave the station it's an act of courage that could result in the ultimate sacrifice. Today we will take a moment to thank all our firefighters for all that you give! #internationalfirefightersday
