MORE FUN THAN SHOULD BE ALLOWED IN ROCK AND ROLL!!! I don't think there has ever been a band that had more fun with an audience or with each other. Since I had ...such a great band behind me, they gave me the confience to do anything I thought would be entertaining. No song was set in stone and no one ever knew what was going to happen. WHO PRAYS FOR YOU, JESUS concept video Who Prays For you, Jesus is NOT an anti-religious song. I’m didn’t then and still do not imply any anti-religious message. The song and many songs in this rock opera, are loosely based on my oldest brother, Jack. He had a huge problem with alcohol. Because of that he lost his career, his wife, kids and home, then eventually his mind. He would call various members of the family in the middle of any given drunken stupor and claim that we... were all going to hell because we weren’t his religion. We would beg him to come back to Indiana so he would at least have a roof over his head, but he refused. He was staying in East Machias, Maine because his destiny was to fight Satan there. I said, So, you’re Jesus now? He said, Yes, maybe I am! and slammed the phone down. That was the last thing we ever said to each other. Being homeless in any part of Maine around Christmas time is brutal. He eventually was found dead and frozen in a hovel about two weeks after Christmas the year after this album was released. MAMA is more closely written about the fictitious Max. His Oedipus Complex had led him down many dark paths. As his mind has started to deteriorate, he begins to see his mother everywhere. Especially in the presence of a young exotic dancer, who also happens to be a single mother. He remembers the men coming to the house, how he was to stay out of sight when they did.
