Ranchotel Horse Center 09.01.2021

Good morning everyone. I hope your off to a good start. I have two things to tell you about.... The Christmas Tree people are gone. You can move your trailers back over and please park neatly so we all can fit. Just a reminder since winter is here and it’s going to rain we need to be courteous to each other. The indoor arena will be busier than normal. If you turn your horse out in the arena look around see if anyone is tied to the fence. If the loose horse in the arena is making the other horses nervous you need to slow your horse down or wait till the area is clear. No lunging in the arena if there are 2 or more already in the arena. If there is someone riding ask if it’s ok to lunge. Thanks for making Ranchotel a safe and fun place to be with your horse. Merry Christmas RHC

Please join us in congratulating this amazing team ! Rachel and Ace just received their Napa Valley Horseman’s Assc. English Champion buckle. We know it takes a village to earn an accomplishment like this. Special thank you to Ranchotel instructor, Kathy Thatcher, and Ranchel’s dedicated parents Robert and Marlene. We couldn’t be more proud of this team.

Our boarders do some pretty awesome things with their horses! Hope and Angela Cozad spent their day giving back to our community participating in the annual canned food drive in the Stonegate neighborhood in Vacaville. Great job!

Ranchotel had a good show. Nikki and Montana both came home with belt buckles. Both won a Champion Buckle. We had several Top Fives and Reserve Champion buckles.... There was good competition in all classes. The Ranch and Reining classes were large. I also want to thank Kain for letting us stall with him and all the help he gave Montana. We will be back next year to show again. I’ll get some pictures up soon. See more

Ranchotel is making some more improvements. We have a company out who is removing all rocks and evening the back and indoor arenas. Arenas will be ready for the boarders to have a great ride. Hopefully we’ll be able to start shows again all the exhibitors can enjoy the nice groomed arena also. Indoor arena closed on Sunday. Back arena closed Friday and Saturday.

Yesterday we did our last show of the series with Napa Valley Horseman’s Association. Ranchotel kids did great like always. We had five students and one adult boarder participate. Hanna won her Ranch Horse Class. Montana took most of the first and Nikki winning most of the seconds in the Ranch Horse division. Nikki was high point of the day for western. Rachel did great with all the English classes she entered. Nikki and Rachel went back and forth with first or second. Jen...na and Eva were keeping Ranchotel in the top five. Jenna did super looking nice and relaxed with Portland. Eva and Brown did great in both English and Western Pleasure. Placing top five in most of her classes she got a second in Showmanship. Eva, Montana, and Nikki also showed Western Pleasure. Nikki place first in most of her classes. Montana place second in the pleasure class she showed in. Eva brought in the top fives. Thanks for the support and help of our parents. Marlene made me a delicious Roast Beef sandwich. The parents kept us hydrated and slathered with sun block. Our horse were very behaved. Now we wait to see who takes home the buckles for the year end awards. Fingers crossed. See more

Now that the fires have settled down in Vacaville I would like to thank a group of people who helped us out on the day we had to evacuate from the fire. Solano CART helped us evacuate 30 horses from Ranchotel. Our evacuation went very smoothly with out incident. 20 of the horses went to Sugarland with Solano CART’s help all horses made the trip safely. We had enough trailers to make one trip. The other 10 horses went to other barns. This organization also help in many other... evacuations in the area. They will help evacuate not just horses, but all animals. They have been trained to handle all animals and are very organized. We asked CART to come to Ranchotel last year and tell us what we needed to be prepared for an evacuation. One of the reasons things went so smoothly. They will go to your barn to help you set up for evacuations. Give them a call. All the CART people are volunteers dedicated to help animals and train the humans for emergencies. Thank you SCART See more

All the Ranchotel Horses are home except for four at Rancho, and two at Michelle’s they’ll be home tomorrow. It’s been a hard week but with all the good people who helped out we are home safe. The evacuation went very well no one hurt human or animal. Horses are happy to be home. Things are starting to feel normal again. All the boarders were great with helping and making the evacuation run as smooth as possible. Sugarland was a life saver taking in 20 of our horse. This made the horses more comfortable being with their buddies. They made the owners of the horse comfortable knowing their horses were being taken care of. I hope this doesn’t happen again any time soon. I hope everyone gets a good night of sleep tonight. THANKS Everyone

RANCHOTEL BOARDERS THE HORSES ARE COMING HOME FROM SUGARLAND TOMORROW MORNING. We are leaving at 9:00am from Ranchotel with the trailers. We don’t need extra cars going up this will make for to many vehicles. Please bring bleach to clean the buckets we used at Sugarland. Any donation you can give to Sugarland is appreciated. They took in over 50 rescue horses 21 were ours. This is the beginning of getting back to normal. Thanks

I was at Ranchotel today. It looks the same way it always has, Untouched by the fire. Hopefully we will have the horses back to the barn soon. We’ll hope the ash stays away and it continues stay calm and cool, we have no power yet that might come on at six tonight. Mike stayed and kept the looters away last night from the motel and barn. Bob kept his eye on the barn area he was ready to roll with his horses. Mija stayed as long as she could till the police told her to leave. So nice to have people who care and help us all out. As of right now no lessons till horses are back and settled. Thanks everyone

Ranchotel is empty no horses and no people. Everyone and animal are safe, hopefully come home soon. There have been fires all around Ranchotel, the fire fighters are doing a good job of keeping it safe. Thanks to everyone who helped get the horses out and in their new temporary homes. Crossed fingers for the wind to stay away so everyone can be safe. We will say a prayers for everyone who has lost their homes. Everybody please stay safe. Thanks again to all who helped

Ranchotel went to the horse show in Napa. Even with the wind, rain, thunder and lightening we showed. Most of the storm had blown off to Vacaville when we got to the show. The temperature was great 76 degrees till the sun came out in the afternoon. Show wasn’t to big, the judge was very good and the kids loved the comments Sarah gave them. We started on time and were done by 1:30. The only hang up was Ace deciding he did not want to go home. Kinda don’t blame him small, hot,... metal box isn’t to appealing in 100 degree weather. Nikki got high point of the day again and Rachel has high point English for the second time. The rest of the kids place in all their classes too. Jenna did her first away show with Portland. They looked great. Montana showed Angie’s horse very first time showing. The got a first in their first class. Eva and Brown looked great improving in each class taking home lots of thirds. The series will be done next month. Ranchotel has a good chance of taking some high points. See more
