Did you know it's National Childhood Injury Prevention Week! With many of us spending more time at home due to COVID, the risk of injury to younger children is on the rise. At Rancho Physical Therapy, we love caring for our pediatric patients but injury prevention is our goal! Here are just a few simple suggestions for preventing injuries in your home:... 1) Anchor large furniture such as TV's, bookcases, and standing fans 2) Section off play areas away from the kitchen and bathrooms 3) Keep floors dry, especially in high traffic areas close to a pool or sprinkler area 4) Make helmets, knee pads, and elbow pads mandatory for bike, scooter, and skateboard fun 5) Keep the jumping confined to the floor and not on couches or beds We hope you all enjoy the rest of your summer and stay safe out there! ~ The Rancho PT Team
