Here is another our Rainbow Bridge graduate who spent his summer interning in Armenia(!). In his interview, Chris is talking about his experience of independent living abroad, far away from home, in a country where people speak a different language on a day-to-day basis. Chris, your persistence in learning Armenian language and implementing it in your business work is admirable. As always, we are so proud of your achievements!

Great news for all board-certified music therapists in California!!! This week Governor Newsom signed into law AB 1540 Music Therapy Act which provides title protection to board-certified music therapists in California. Special thanks to bill's author Assemblymember Chris Holden of Pasadena. Thank you to the task force for all their hard work. Music therapy is now an officially recognized profession in the state of California!!!

Often being asked about the difference between music therapists and other musicians, I found the answer in the posts of my colleagues on Music Therapists Unite! FB group. In every person language: Other musicians play music to show off themselves, their skills and abilities, while music therapists play to show off the skills and abilities of, and the possibilities for their clients.

This is good to know not only for aspiring music therapists but for anyone who wants to know more about the profession of music therapy

What a year!! Our own Theodore S. got another Blue Ribbon Award (2nd place) in the MTACOCC Comteporary Music Festival on April 28, 2019!! Congratulations, Theo!

Today is the last day of Certificate of Merit Examination for piano. We are waiting for results with excitement! Certificate of Merit is the program sponsored by the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC). https://www.mtac.org/prog/performance/certificate-of-merit/ All our teachers are affiliated with MTAC and are qualified to prepare their students for any level of Certificate of Merit Examination. We are affiliated with the Orange Coast Cities Branch of MTAC (MTACOCC). http://www.mtacocc.org/ Our student Theodore S. received a Blue Ribbon Award (2nd place) in the Baroque Festival organized by MTACOCC in February. So, we already have a fantastic achievement this school year :)
