Meet one of our sound techs Jazz and share his story: I’ve worked at que sera on and off for the last 8 years. Benz and Louanne gave me an opportunity early in my career to learn audio, and truly put me through the ringer, but I couldn't be more grateful for it! Be it mixing shows, fixing speakers or getting electrocuted.(sometimes all in the same night) Que sera gave me a chance to grow and get better. Benz has made this place a staple among the local music and arts communi...ty because even if you havent been to the Que you've heard of our shows, everything ranging from Queer Mondays, reggae in the lbc, release the bats, Bump and grind, green and gold and the almighty FightclubLBC and beyond. Meet Lou our bar manager and share her story: For many years I have partied behind the bar at the Que Sera. When it was announced we were officially going on lockdown and the bar would be closed, I was determined to take advantage of the pandemic and repair things around the house. When life gives you lemons you make a Lemon Drop!... I repaired everything around the house that needed to be fixed. Now what? I’ll fix myself a Rusty Nail. After 20+ years of translating drunk communication it was strange to clearly understand my neighbors without the loud thump of the bass in the background or a garbled canihaveajamesonginger? Bored and restless, contemplated watching Tiger King on Netflix but decided to start drinking tea instead. Long Beach Iced Tea. OMG This thing is still going. Wondering if this is our new normal? Longing for life before Covid. Gonna make myself an Old Fashioned. Day 184 of captivity and wondering why people won’t wear masks and stay home when possible so this thing can end. Our livelihoods and Long Beach Culture are at stake. Don’t let it be last call folks.
