We've been busy over the past couple of years working on Solar and Wind Developments all over the high desert. As the availability of Solar Power has grown, and the technology has gotten better, the price per Megawatt for Solar Power has been steadily dropping. A new 50 Megawatt Plant in New Mexico, scheduled to go online in less than a year (May 2014) will have prices competitive with traditional (coal and gas fired) Power Plants.

This is terrific news for those of us working on the Solar/Wind/Alternative Energy production sector in California. Riverside County is now opening up 150,000 acres of land for solar production.

Is it too early to predict a housing recovery in Southern California? If so, then let's all hope that this is the beginning of real recovery, not the "jobless" recovery we've been having for the past 2 years. Did you know that 3 out of the 4 Presidents on Mount Rushmore were Land Surveyors? March 17 through March 23 is National Surveyors Week. According to the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS), Hundreds of surveyors nationwide are planning activities, such as talks to school groups, contacts with their iocal news media about the importance of the nation's surveying profession, booths at popular community locations to describe the importance of the work and role o...f surveyors and their contributions to society. These activities will enable citizens to look back at the historic contributions of surveying and look ahead to the exciting new technologies that are constantly modernizing this honored and learned profession. We all have people in our office that think they can "Multi-Task" the day away. Well, it appears that these folks only think they are more productive.
